Welcome

Liberty Renewable Fuels - was organized in June 2006 and has purchased 435 acres in North Star Township, adjacent to the City of Ithaca in Gratiot County Michigan.  The property has been rezoned by the City of Ithaca as a Planned Industrial Park, and Liberty has received site plan approval from the City.  Liberty has also secured the necessary soil erosion and storm water management permits  to proceed with site preparation and construction which is currently under way.

The construction site is located within a quarter mile of U.S. highway 127 via the Washington Road interchange and is adjacent to the Great Lakes Central Railroad  connecting to the CP, CN, NS and CSX rail lines.   The site design allows for corn, ethanol and distillers grains to be transported by truck or rail to and from the site.  There are also two 20” natural gas transmission lines running through the site.

When completed Liberty expects to own and operate a dry mill corn-processing ethanol plant annually processing approximately 40 million bushels of corn into approximately 110-million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol and 354,000 tons of distillers grains for animal feed.  Plans call for 4 million bushels of storage and a 6,000 bph grain dryer allowing Liberty to receive wet corn from local growers during harvest.  It will be the largest ethanol plant built in Michigan to date.
